Flip Flops in Fall

For some of us, me included it is Fall. It’s exciting to buy new shoots and boots and show them off. Being somewhat broke…I think I will polish off last years…that’s okay. Right now I am not even caring about it. Why? Because I am sitting on a balcony looking over a man made pond surrounded by Palm trees wearing my Flip Flops in obscene 90 degree weather. (Buy the way…I did not pay for this mini vacation to Florida …Received free airline ticket from points earned and staying at someones timeshare. Just so you don’t think I can shell out money for a get-a-away and not afford a pair of boots.

So my summer footwear has been extended by another week! Fantastic!

Back to the Future

Hot ShoesHot Men’s ShoesFashion Sneaks

What do I remember from 1989?

Well for starters …

  • My home state of Massachusetts  declares April 24th “New Kids on the Block” Day.(Hmmm, is it now NKOB day?)
  • Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson remarry (Big mistake).
  • I graduated from College. (Still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.)
  • Boxer Mike Tyson and Robin Given file for divorce. (Saw that coming.)

Is this the year that should be resurrected? Remember, Ryans Hope ended it’s 13 1/2 year run and oh yah… George Senior was inaugerated with his faithful sidekick Dan Quayle.

Well not all is a wash. Nike found a silver lining.

Marty Mcfly is back…his sneaker that is.

Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker for auction on eBay and donate all proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research. Fox famously played Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” time-travel trilogy, where he wore the shoes during a visit to the year 2015. Yeah Nike!!!!

There are No Rules!

I am excited I can pull out my Granny Shoes from High School and save a few bucks. It is a potpourri of shoe trends this Fall and yes, some of them do date back to my highschool years.  Although I am broke, I can still be fashionable. It is time for a total recall

” I really do miss the 80′s.”

New York Fashion Week showcased the trends for this fall. Shoes, boots, shoeboots, ankle boots, pumps with wedge heel and platform and combinations of platform wedge laced up animal print with a peek -a-boo toe. It’s all a go!

Wether you can spend loads of money on new shoes or you are still recovering from when your stocks tanked a couple of years ago…just  dust off the platforms from quite a few summers. This season almost nothing is  a faux pas!

 Click…take a pick.
